Discipleship Training School
A hands-on gap year and leadership internship in the heart of San Antonio’s Westside — where faith meets action and lives are transformed through urban ministry.
AGORA Ministries exists to share the love and hope of Christ in high-need areas. Our Discipleship Training School is a faith-based gap year and non-profit leadership internship where you’ll grow as a disciple of Jesus while serving families and students in one of San Antonio’s most underserved communities. Whether you’re a recent graduate exploring a Christian gap year, heading into missions, ministry, higher education, or the workplace — you’ll leave equipped and empowered.
Serve
If the Spirit of God is in us, we must serve as Jesus did. The school immerses you in hands-on ministry — from food distribution to mentoring kids.
Share
The world needs to hear the gospel. You’ll be part of day-to-day ministry, share your testimony, teach what you’re learning, and proclaim the good news.
Grow
A disciple of Jesus should never stay the same. Through Scripture, prayer, mentorship, and the Holy Spirit, you’ll be challenged to know the Lord more deeply.
Every part of the school is designed to grow you spiritually, relationally, and as a leader.
Discipleship Classes
Every Friday: work through “Experiencing God,” hear guest teachers, pray together, and dig into book reports.
Small Groups
Meet weekly in smaller groups to discuss what you’re learning, encourage one another, and build lasting friendships.
One-on-One Mentoring
Each intern gets dedicated time with an AGORA staff member who checks in on your life, growth, and walk with God.
